Oft in the stilly night,
Ere Slumbers chain has bound me
Fond Memory brings the light
Of other days around me.

| There's no place like my own.
| I don't think smiley faces should replace telling someone that you're happy for them.
| Some people argue that we should solve all the problems on Earth before going off the planet, but that's like telling Lewis and Clark to stay put until the rest of the East was settled. No way.
| Imagination is more important than knowledge.
| Great spirits have often encountered violent opposition from weak minds.
| I know not with what weapons World War III will be faught but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
| "And I wish you / Sunrays and Saturdays / perfect starry nights / sweet dreams and moonbeams / and a love that's warm and bright / Sunrays and Saturdays / friendship strong and true / oceans of blue and a room with a view / to live the life you choose."
| I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people are just assholes.
Look,
here are we
on this stary night
staring into space,
and I must say,
I feel as small as dust lying
down here.
| You know we never stop to think...that the light is billions of years old by the time we see it... Maybe they are souls. Travelling through time as starlight, looking for homes.
| The Digital Divide, That's just a new sticker we use to cover up a more important word: poverty, I don't think we should worry about the digital divide nearly as much as we should worry about poverty. It's all over the planet. We [the US] have great medicine and good roads and clean water. We invent terms like digital divide to distract us from the real problem that must be solved in the world, and that's poverty"

| "Would you just be still for a moment? Would you cancel the world? If we close our eyes for a moment, would you cancel the world?"
| Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.
| Humanity has lost its will. We as humankind need a collective guide to drive us forward into the future. We have become lost in our own terrestriality. But, for centuries we have been driven by our desire to discover new lands, and expand humanity's borders. The world was stunned as the first human orbited the earth, and humanity looked upon in awe as the first steps were taken on a celestial body. Somehow though... we have lost the drive and the will to continue our exploits in space. Space is and WILL always be the final unexplored place in existence. Humanity needs a goal. Space is the only goal that collectively unite the entire world to proceed into the future.

If FedEx is "Absolutely, Positively" the best way to send business documents, why is the monthly bill envelope prepaid for sending via the U.S. mail, when the FedEx person already comes to your office twice a day?!

| If you look at the dissapointing results of our Mars expeditions, it is obvious that the Martians have a high level of intelligence. Having seen what we've done to Earth, they have no desire to let us onto their planet to screw it up also.
| Just because people will automatically distribute their likes and dislikesamong what is available does not mean that what is available is good for them or to them or, in the case of radio, good for the art of music. Giving people what they want is the very best way to make money and the very worst way to make serious art.

| Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
| Never hide your feelings from your true friends - if they are your true friends they will understand and accept them.

Me and my fellow venture capitalists. We didnt mean to blow through a trillion dollars but things kind of got out of hand. We started to make crazy investments. Pets.com, remember the little hand puppet they used in the ads? That was a $9 million puppet as far as I am concerned. What does it cost to acquire a customer? A Pets.com it turned out to be $300. If you were a customer with a big dog, you spent $30 a month or $360 a year. In pet food there is a 20% profit margin, so Pets.com got $78 a year. Assuming the dog didnt die, it would have taken five years for the company to make back its acquisition costs....

"Napster is a fascinating technological tool, but let's not be deceived into thinking that taking the property of others without offer of payment is anything but theft."
